The headlouse does feed on man, but as a parasite not as a predator. The difference is that the louse does not kill and eat the host but simply eats a small part of him - a few drops of his blood. If a man had lots of lice it would be ecologically similar to an oak tree grazed by thousands of herbivorous insects.
